My Name is Sonia Herrera and I am a Bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I received my Master’s Degree specializing in Marriage, Family and Child counseling in 2011 from California State Los Angeles University. For the past 9 years I have worked different non profit programs such as regular Outpatient Mental Health services as well as Intensive Services Program FSP (Full Service Partnership) and RRR (Recovery Resilience Reintegration). My past working experience includes working with diverse children, teenagers and adults from different backgrounds/ethnicities.
Through my past working experience I have earned a vast knowledge on how to work with clients that have been diagnosed with Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, Conduct Disorder/Oppositional Defiance, and grief. As a therapist I like to meet my clients where they are at and build trust and rapport through an empathetic and compassionate environment in which I can provide active listening, support and guidance.
I am passionate about the therapeutic process and enjoy working collaboratively with my clients to assist them reach their treatment goals, build upon their strengths, learn how to manage life stressors, and improve on their overall functioning.
