First, we offer individual counseling (or individual therapy) for anyone who might be struggling socially or emotionally. Individual counseling is just what it sounds like – you (or your child) will meet one-on-one with one of our amazing therapists to focus on your needs and goals.
We provide individual counseling for the three main age groups: children (play therapy), teens, and adults:
Has your child been acting irritable, upset, or different? Has something happened to the family, such as divorce, loss, or a major change? Is your child being bullied or facing other difficulties at school? Do you feel stuck, overwhelmed, and unsure how to best help your little one?
If so, we are here for you! Heredia Therapy offers Play Therapy specifically designed for younger clients with emotional and social difficulties. Play Therapy teaches children specific skills in communication, cooperation, and emotional regulation in a safe, judgment-free environment. Kids who engage in Child Play Therapy can learn to overcome difficulties from their past, work better with adults, and regain a sense of confidence and control.
If your teen is struggling, let us help! Many children struggle with opening up about their struggles to family members, especially parents. Teens especially require a non-family member confidant to open up with as a way to gain independence and self-empowerment.
Therapy for teens, or teen counseling, is specifically designed to help teenagers deal with some of the expected stressors of adolescence (e.g., school problems) as well as the unexpected (e.g., trauma). Teens can learn effective coping strategies for dealing with difficult thoughts and feelings as they grow into confident, stable young adults.
You deserve help, too! Adults expect themselves to do it all - maintain steady work, provide for their families, stay in shape, find love, you name it. And, we are taught to be independent and self-reliant – which also makes us hesitant to seek help.
This is troubling, as so many of us are struggling. The latest CDC survey of health estimated that 25-50% of the U.S. population suffers from mental illness like depression or anxiety.
If you’ve been dealing with feelings of hopelessness, helplessness, intense worry, or stress, we are here for you. Our team of adult therapists is dedicated to helping you find solutions to whatever life has thrown your way – all you have to do is reach out.
Sometimes, two people will experience a struggle together – and the best way to address that is by having both in therapy.
Couples Counseling (also called couples therapy) is the first line of treatment for relationship issues. If you and your partner struggle with intimacy, trust, or communication, couples counseling can help.
You and your partner will meet together with one of our stellar couples counselors to work through your difficulties without shaming or blaming. Our couples therapists are specifically trained to observe and identify dysfunctional patterns in the moment; that way, you can break free of old habits and move forward with a happier, healthier relationship.
Here at Heredia Therapy Group, we know that family means everything.
When families experience major stressors like moving to a new city, divorce, or loss of a loved one, everyone is affected. Some families experience fighting, frequent arguments, or “teaming up” against one another. Some struggle with trust and teamwork, meaning that members can’t rely on one another.
Family Therapy (also called family counseling) is all about helping restore the family system to a state of self-sustaining wellness. Family therapists meet with the entire family to help you engage in difficult conversations as you learn to support one another and express needs in a healthy manner.
No matter what your family is facing, Heredia Therapy Group is here for you. Our team of family therapists is dedicated to helping you and your family rebuild and grow – and we would love to work with you.
